Snow In The Fields
Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow
I took this photograph on the outskirts of Leeds in Yorkshire in the north of England.
Just a half a mile from here, the busy ring road around the north of Leeds is full of traffic all day long.
This spot also marks the beginning of the road from Leeds to Harrogate and the Yorkshire Dales. And except for the small village of Harewood along the way, the road from here to Harrogate goes through the countryside with views like this all the way.
I shot the scene just a few days ago at a time when the news here in England has been full of reports about the unusually large snowfalls in the Dales and Northumberland so early in the winter this year.
The result for the farmers in the area is that they are having to feed their sheep because the sheep cannot get to the grass two or more feet down beneath the snow.
So while this is a beautiful and bucolic scene for us, for local farmers it is a difficult time.
