Frequently Asked Questions
What information will I receive when I join Quillcards?
Once you have completed your details on the Join page and have made your payment, you will receive an email from us.
The email contains your unique activation link.
You must click the link in the email to activate your account. Then you can log in to Quillcards and begin sending ecards.
Once you have activated your account we will send you a Welcome mail with useful information to help you get the best out of Quillcards.
You can also refer at any time to the Members' Section further down in this FAQ that contains further useful information about using all the features of Quillcards.
How do I renew my membership?
We send you two reminders shortly before it is time to renew your membership. We do not renew memberships automatically. You are in charge of activating your renewal link, making your payment, and renewing your Quillcards membership.
If you want to renew your membership but you can no longer locate your renewal reminder emails, just go to the Renewals page to make your payment.
How do I cancel my membership?
You can cancel your membership by simply letting it run out without renewing it. If for any reason you wish to end your membership early, you can do so. Contact us via our Contact Form, by mail, by email, or by telephone and we will cancel your membership.
You will find our contact information on our Contact Us page. Please note that we may ask you to verify your membership credentials. You can do this by emailing us from the email address associated with your Quillcards account.
Because the cost of membership is very low, we do not issue refunds for the unexpired part of a year as a matter of course. However, we are a customer-friendly service and if you really find that Quillcards is not for you and you let us know in a timely manner soon after joining, we will do our best to help with regard to refunding your membership.
Is there a limit to how many ecards I can send?
You can send as many ecards as you like provided the numbers are within the spirit of acceptable use.
We explain what this means in our Terms of Use where we give the example of Jane who sends as many as ten ecards to her friends almost every day. That's three or four thousand ecards per year. That number and the fact that Jane is sending her ecards to people she knows means this is acceptable use.
We also give the example of Jack, a businessman who wants to send hundreds of ecards daily to his business contacts, customers, and prospects. That might run into tens of thousands of ecards per year. That is not within the spirit of acceptable use.
If on the other hand Jack wants to send ecards to business clients he knows personally, and to his friends and relatives, and overall he sends no more than the kind of numbers we describe for Jane - then that would be acceptable use. Of course, if Jack wants to send most of his ecards during the holiday season, that is OK with us.
Who takes the photographs for the cards?
We take all the photographs you see in our ecards and in our articles. We also research and gather all the quotations, and create all the designs.
We also designed this website and are constantly working to make our service better and better for everyone.
How often do you update the cards?
We add to the cards to our collections three or four times a year and will continue to do so. We usually add around 15 to 20 cards each time. If you take a look at our blog, you will find our articles telling readers when we have put new ecards in the collections. We also usually send out a newsletter telling members when we have added new ecards.
You can always find our most recent ecards by looking in the Recently Added section, which you will find in the sidebar below the various themes.
What do you cover in your newsletters?
Our newsletters cover news about improvements to our service, new ecards that we have added to our collections, and time-limited offers that we make.
Our newsletters are sent to our members automatically. If you are not a member but would like to receive our newsletters, just click here to let us know and we will add your name to the list.
We send out our newsletters about seven or eight times a year.
What is your charity policy?
We have been committed to our social and environmental responsibilities for a long time. See our Charity Policy statement for more details.

Guide To Using Quillcards
Sending Ecards
When you log in to your account and click on an ecard image, the buttons in the Lightbox image now read Send This ecard and Add This Image To Favorites.
Clicking on Send This Ecard takes you to the Compose page where you can write and send your ecard.
Clicking on Add This Image To Favorites will add the ecard image to your favorite images. To see and edit the images you have favorited, go to My Quillcards.
My Quillcards
You will see the My Quillcards button at the end of the navigation bar. Click on this and you will see a number of sections. Here is how to use each section.
Favorite Images
The first section is Favorite Images. You will see a button beneath each image where you can Remove Favorites. Also, clicking on the image itself will take you to the Compose page where you can use the image to write your ecard. Simple!
Dates To Remember
The second section is Dates To Remember. This is divided in further subsections, the first of which is My Dates List. This is a list of personal dates you want to store. The next subsection is My Dates Calendar which shows those same dates set out in calendar view.
The next subsection is Add New Dates where you can add dates for birthdays, anniversaries, etc. You can also specify whether you want to add the date for the current year or for the following five years.
One additional thing you can do when you are adding or editing dates, is to set up reminders. The way this works is that when you set up a reminder, Quillcards will send you an automated email on the date you choose to be reminded. That way you won't have to worry about forgetting to send a card on an important occasion.
The final subsection is National Holidays where you will find a calendar of U.S. and UK national holidays that you can add to your personal calendar.
Ecard Archives
There are two subsections. The first is Ecards Sent. This is a record of all the cards you have sent in the previous 12 months. This is where you can view the cards you have sent. You can also resend any that you sent in the past 30 days and which have not yet been picked up.
Any cards that have been picked up are indicated with a 'Yes'. Any that have not been viewed and have expired are also indicated.
The second subsection is Ecards Pending. This is a list of all the cards you have scheduled to be sent at a later date.
Another feature is that when you are browsing the cards you have sent and you see an image you want to use in a new ecard, just click on the thumbnail image. That will take you straight to the 'Compose' page with the image already in place.
Contacts
This is where you will find a list of the contacts you added when composing your ecards. You can also add and edit contacts and import contacts from your email systems such as Yahoo Mail.
Profile
The Profile section is where is where you can edit your details such as your email address, password, and your time zone.
You can also add your address details in your profile for when wish you purchase one of our art prints.
Logging Out
The final section is where you can log out of your account. You can also log out of your account via the button on the main navigation bar. We strongly recommend that you log out at the end of any session on a public computer.
