With the increase in population, I guess the assembly line is speeding up... The place exerts quite a pull, and I went back twice more. In one way it's very simple and pure and "going back to the earth." In another way, it sounds almost like an assembly line operation! Thousands of such burnings, and pyres burning thousands of years! What a thing to contemplate. I did not know bodies and bones were thrown into the river. Bodies being weighted down! Now that's really hard to take. Wow, these are things we never hear about. It must have been difficult to take in all that was happening here.
