As I wrote in the post, Boo's carer told me that Boo is very used to attention because she's been 'working' with people at a school for special needs in Liverpool for quite a while. So I imagine this and other similar activities accounts for why she is so used to and comfortable around people. There was a large crowd of children and adults petting her constantly, and she took it all in stride. Quite remarkable... Yes, I agree with you about the White-Faced (Scops) Owl, her markings are gorgeous.

Yes, they are phenomenal, awe-inspiring creatures... That's fabulous that you could observe one close in the wild, how wonderful and rare!

I'm surprised that Boo "loves attention." My understanding was that owls did not like to be directly looked at and do not like to be out in the open, especially being surrounded by lots of people. But maybe Boo is just different. The White-faced Owl is stunning.

Magnificent creature. Owls fascinate me. Last summer I had the pleasure of staring at one up close in the wild. Perched on a nearby branch she seemed unaware or unthreatened by my insignificant presence.
